What is mis: management information systems: help orgs achieve objectives by comprising development and use of info systems, 3 key elements of mis, development and use, goals/objectives info systems. How does is differ from it: they are closely related but they are different. Information technology (it): methods, inventions, standards, products: raw technology (hardware, software, data components and how they are networked together) Information system: system of hardware, software, data, procedures and people who produce information. It by itself does not help an org achieve its goals: only when it is embedded into an is does it become useful.
