All the data the digital computer processes are series of 0s and 1s. Analog but most phenomena in life are analog : these signals use wave variations continuously changing, although digital data is not quite as exact as analog data its easier to manipulate. Analog data, however, may be converted to analog form. For data transmission over telephone lines and cables modems are needed to convert analog data to digital data that computers can use. Modems modulate (convert) a computers digital data to analog data!
