In 1865 the priest decided to move the parish to the actual site where it is now. So the church and religious organization was closer to the people. in 1865 the commission of the church saint anges, 1915 destroyed by fire, and rebuilt and reopened in 1919 as we know it today. The sister of saint-anges created a college and a convent. Religious community moved in in 1965, and acquire property of mr. simpson, the chief exucitve of the hudson bay company at the time. Other side of st-joseph there is the old canal lachine. (operated by anglophone, so church st- anne catholic but the anglican needed a church before the french came. )
