So recent that it is still being developed. First developed as a place to experiment create a new urban environment close to nature. Asked mise vandereau to design several buildings on the island, famous gas station, and tree tower. Was first part of verdun and now part of montreal. In near future new dev created from leberre, one who built house at lachine and fort at st-ville, had 45 farms on this island. 1671 zacharie dupuis got the first concession in the area, and nicknamed it based off his original place in france verdun. Known as cote des argoullets meaning a sharp shooter in france at the time, the place was given to farmers. Used to be a very dangerous place lots of mohawks around who wanted to steal people.
