Big move occurred in the beginning of the 1960s mayor jean drapeau wanted to create a new big city. Completely changed the area o sotck exchange tower, tower by mise van derough. End of 9th ce all the area was completely remodelled, move from old montreal to the west, started by churches, after fire of 1852, cemetery was moved to mount royal, area became entrance to montreal. Terminal all trains ended there, hotels were present, banks, insurance companies. Area was changing fast enf of 19th ce and early 20th ce. 50"s has major move, economic center, sky scappers. 1889 bruce price built the first part of windsor station. All access to montreal was through this spot.
