Natural selection: the evolutionary process that favours individuals of a species that are best adapted to survive and reproduce, strong genes = strong animals these animals need to survive in order to pass on their genes. Adaptive behaviour: promotes an organism"s survival in the natural habit, all organisms must adapt to particular places, climates, food sources, and ways of life. Evolutionary psychology: emphasizes the importance of adaptation, reproduction, and survival of the fittest in explaining behaviour. Genetic foundations: we all carry a genetic code that we inherited from our parents and so fourth. Chromosomes: are threadlike structures that are made up of deoxyribonucleic acid, or dna. Dna: a complex molecule that has a double helix shape, and contains genetic information. Genes: units of hereditary information, sre short segments composed of dna. They act as a blueprint for cells to reproduce themselves and manufacture the proteins that maintain life.
