It"s a code of conduct (should be able-bodied) Racialized people can be included in whiteness. No concept of childhood in the middle ages. All meaning around the child, this figure, is constructed in some way. If childhood is this time where they"re not supposed to be sexual, problems arise when they"re seen as being out of control. Not behaving in a fully human way (western definition) Epistemology = how we know things, the construction of knowledge. Violence = not just physical or emotional. Violence takes place through the construction of knowledge. Knowledge produced through media, school curriculum, parenting, etc. How is violence done to queer, lesbian, gay, bi, pan, asexual youth through. Desire to protect white, middle class, heterosexual girls from sexual predators and themselves. Notion that girls are innocent and we need to protect them. What is the cost for those that aren"t seen as needing protection (racialized bodies seen as unexploitable, while white bodies seen as exploitable)
