Attitudes towards different drugs are relative to time and place (ex. All drugs can be said to have some type of interaction with your brain (but that can be said about anything) The uses of drugs are what can be detrimental or positive (wrong because one particular drug can be good or bad) In ancient greek, drug traces back to the word pharmakon which means poison and medicine/rememdy. What determines the action of a drug is dosage the cure/effect is not an inherent part of the drug. How the drug was put into the body also determines the effect of the drug (ingestion, injection, etc) Effects of drugs based on dosage: alcohol low doses we see sedation high doses are hypnotic even higher doses we see anesthetic.
