Reification of social relations
• is when social relations of production that are actually human beings when the relations
of these humans turn into relations between things. Reintroducing a human being into a
thing by the wage. It is the wage that capitalist has in which is buying workers by the
wages.
• Thingfication: the process by which relations are perceived as attributes of some
productions of the relations such as the commodity. This implies that objects like
commodities become subjects like persons which actual subjects are turning into objects.
The result of this process is that subjects are truing into passive, into determined by the
other whereas objects are rendered as the determining important factors as real subjects.
Colonialism/ settler colonialism
• Mercantile capitalism later developed into more modern commodity of trade.
• Land-- wanting land works by taking land by force and expelling its residents. Those
residents who refused to leave their lands, colonialists would kill, massacre, and commit
genocide.
What are the main concepts introduced by fanon in his the (wretched of the Earth). Mainly focus
on the last piece. His frame work of violence, and violence in the international context.
