An expressed preference for sexual partners of the opposite sex (binary) Expressed preference is not necessarily the same as genuine desired preference . Closeted- hide their sexual preferences, denial, (discrimination) Reflects the dominant discourse regarding sexual orientation. Straight" privilege of any of the sexual orientations. Sex outside the dominant discourse, requires a qualifier. Ex: gay, lesbian, bdsm, etc. (not the norm)
