1. 22 billion people in global south live on less then . 25 a day (international poverty line) Relative poverty= unable to afford relative basic necessities. Globalization: this refers to diverse series of trends/forces that happen worldwide (economy and politics) Globalization plays a large role in economics. There is a large reliance on each other when it comes to economy in a global aspect: example: market crash in usa caused problems worldwide. Good because: allows for travel, international trade, spread of different views, and knowledge/awareness of oppression/inequality. An attempt for companies to pursue cheap labor as well as increase profits. Pro"s: sharing cultural product, trade and commerce, cheap products. Con"s: negative environmental impact, exploitation, loss of domestic jobs, and loss of culture. Rich countries use them to gather raw material and cheap labor. Global stratification of health care: poor countries show more sickness and disease. They lack adequate healthcare since they cannot invest in infustructure.
