Some of the most important features of religions. Most important functions in religions as well as in society. Does not mean something that is false! The way that religious scholars use this word, it does not automatically mean something that is false. Dealing with religions stories for the perspectives of believes, these myths are not false. With a hierophanic function: to reveal/manifest the sacred. Featuring sacred/heroic beings and recounting their actions in the world: ex: heroes. Myths recount their intervention in the world, their actions, exploits, contributions to the world and humanity. Through myths, people have a way to gain a sense of the sacred. From the perspective of religious believers, from the insider perspective, a myth is not only a sacred story, but also a true story. A true story (second important feature of myth) From a religions perspective: not as empirical facts . Myths reveal something significant about humanity and the world in which we live in.
