Engaged in more with subordinates than bosses no gender effect. Communal behaviour: behaviour that is friendly, empathic. Women tend to engage in more of it than men. People expect women to be more communal. Demands of female gender role and leader role are contradictory. Inconsistency b/w communal qualities associated with women and agentic qualities associated with a leader.
