Set of psychological traits (innate tendencies, they are stable over time) Mechanisms: the aspects of personality that change over time, they are adaptable. Organized and relatively enduring: there is consistency in personality. Adaptations: the ways that people change to adapt to the needs of the environment. We adapt to people"s i(cid:374)(cid:374)er (cid:449)orlds, to people"s ph(cid:455)sical realties, and the social environment. Traits are used in the three ways. Example: someone who is extraverted will seek situations where they can be outgoing, and interact with people, the output is that they are seen as friendly/high energy. The inner world is accessible to others. Personality influences how we interpret the world.
