Rehabilitation make them a prosocial individual so they contribute to society. If you stole something or broke something then you owe them or you have to fix the thing you broke. Promote responsibility: *very difficult to rehabilitate through incarceration* If they were younger, they are deemed less responsible. Especially for aboriginal, they are over incarcerated and they try to not incarcerate them: other principle: if they sexually assault a child then they would sentence them to a heavier punishment.
