Psychological test: a standardized measure of a sample of a person"s behaviour. They"re used to measure the individual differences that exist among people in abilities, aptitudes, interests, and aspects of personality. You"re response represents a sample of your behaviour. They assess intellectual ability rather than previous knowledge. Aptitude tests: assess specific types of mental abilities; like: verbal reasoning, numerical ability, abstract reasoning, perceptual speed and accuracy, mechanical reasoning, space relationships, spelling, and language usage. Achievement tests: gauge a person"s mastery and knowledge of various subjects. Personality tests: measures various aspects of personality, including motives, interests, values, and attitudes. Standardization: refers to the uniform procedures used in the administration and scoring of a test. All subjects get the same questions and time limits so they can be scored equally. Test norms: provide information about where a score on a psychological test ranks in relation to other scores. It shows who is above and below the average.
