Environmental stress: one of the big stressors that people talk about is work. We know that more people who are impoverished from a socio-economic status come from ethnic minorities. They also come from female-headed families: when people look at sugar cane farmers, they have less cognitive abilities in the periods of time when they aren"t flushed with money. They go up after the harvest comes in. the analogy is, when we go through dry times its almost certain that our cognitive abilities are diminished in some way: one of the worlds experts of immigration is berry. Integration, strong new cultural identity and strong original cultural identity. Coping: what do we do in response to that stress, there are general strategies that we can adopt. Coping describes the efforts that we undertake to try to tolerate the demands of stress: one really good way to cope is called constructive coping. It is when we attack the problem directly.
