Manic episode: period of abnormally elevated mood and abnormally and persistently increased goal-directed activity or energy - lasts at least 1 week, 3/7 symptoms are present. Symptoms same as manic: the symptoms represent a noticeable change from typical behaviour, not severe enough to cause impairment in social functioning or hospitalization.
