Document Summary

Counterbalancing is varying the order evenly or randomly: double blind study; only the person who designed the study really knows whats going on. theres a researcher there as well to ensure there is no bias. The people who are in uencing the study don"t know what is going on either to prevent bias. Population the larger group of people about whom you are making inferences. Sample the group of participants in your study. Take the data from the sample and generalize it for the rest of the population (ie. Describe (descriptive stats): describing whats happening in the sample; inferring from the sample whats probably happening in the larger population. Descriptive statistics used to summarize and make understandable a group of numbers collected in a study. Inferential statistics used to draw conclusions that are based on the numbers actually collected in the research (but go beyond these numbers) asking if the data is.
