Power is the rate at which work is done. The rate at which energy is used in a system (equivalent definitions due to the work-energy theorem) In si system, unit of power is j/s. Previously: calculated total energy to perform a particular task. Now: the power tells us the rate that we can transfer the energy to accomplish the task. It finds out how long it takes to accomplish said task. If the object is travelling at constant velocity, the power is related to force by the scalar product of velocity and force.
