Proper arises through labour and that money is invented to extend the duration of the enjoyment of our possessions. While hobbes believes we enter commonwealth for security, locke basically argue that we enter into the social contract because we are good entrepreneurs. However, money also entrenches inequalities between members of a community. While hobbes believes we enter commonwealth for security, locke says because we"re good entrepreneurs. Remember that for hobbes, property and commonwealths came into being together (85) because an individual could not keep property in the state of nature. Locke, by contrast, describes a fairly complex system of property and industry in the state of nature. Lockes notes that human beings are entitled to property. This is true regardless of whether we believe that people have this title due to natural reason or according to the biblical claim that god gave humans dominion over the earth.
