Man is an organized situation in which he/she"s, him/herself involved. Man makes him/herself by constantly creating and recreating his/her human condition. So, the human condition is my subjectivity and my inter-subjectivity (my awareness of the existence of others). People accuse existentialist of you take with one hand, what you give with the other, which means your values are not serious, since you choose them yourselves. Sartre"s response: i am very sorry that it should be so; but if i have excluded god the father, there must be somebody to invent values. We have to take things as they are. To say that men are the only ones that invent rules and values means neither more nor less than this: there are no rules or values a priori. Life is nothing until it is lived; but it is yours to make sense of, and the value of it is nothing else but the sense that you choose.
