Role in 5-ht in ralphe nuclei: lesion to entire rn. We remove 5-ht by completely lesioning rn. If you administer pcpa drugs, shorter amount of time until ejaculation occurs and shorter refractory period. Pcpa administration same effects as rn lesions: lesion rn with 5,7-dht. Faster ejaculation and shorter refractory period: lesion spinal nerves with 5,7-dht. Easier to evoke erectile and ejaculatory reflexes: reduce 5-ht from rn, facilitate sexual behavior. More frequent sex behaviour and more rapid termination. Effect of serotonin and serotonin antagonist on lordosis: receptive females and non-receptive females. Differing doses of estrogens: all rats cannula in mpoa or vmh. Lower ratio indicates less female sex: results. Methystergyde dose dependent rats increase in sexual behaviour. Serotonin had no effect in unreceptive females but that"s because lordosis is already very low and you can"t reduce it much more: floor effect- behaviour is so low that you can"t reduce it any more.
