Schizophrenia is a common disease with severe consequence for patients and their loved one. Myth: they are violent and dangerous are there greatest danger to themselves- greater risk is self-harm or suicide. Fact: those treated, they are not more violent than anyone else. Fact: auditory hallucinations, and visual hallucinations are possible but less common. Delusions of grandeur: belief that one if famous or important. Delusio(cid:374)s of perse(cid:272)utio(cid:374): others are (cid:862)out to get the(cid:373)(cid:863) Erotomanic delusions: another person is in love with them, often stalk them. Delusions: irrational beliefs or paranoids that misrepresents reality. Delusions can be classifies as bizarre if they are clearly implausible. Their organs were removed and replaced with another person. Delusions can instead be non-bizarre if they are somewhat plausible. Delusions expressing a loss of control over mind and body are common. Hallucinations: the experience of sensory events without any input from the surrounding environment.
