Class: our second revolution , aristocracy/middle class/peasantry. Able to tell which class people were in just by looking at them. Aristocracy = land and wealth, people living and farming their land. Middle class = merchants, traders, business people, lawyers, doctors, small group, win out in the industrial revolution, middle class has more money than the aristocracy, has more to do with mannerisms and morals: aristocracy/middle class/working class/peasantry. Working class = works in the factories, leave the countryside to work in the city. Marx called middle class bourgeoisie and the working class the proletariat: separation of home and work. Change that came with the industrial revolution. Big changes: textile revolution in great britain. Would get raw materials overseas from india and manufacture it in britain: growth and then death of putting-out system. Manufacturer bringing raw cotton to a family in the countryside and then pick it up once it was spun.
