Can be attributed to many push" and pull" factors. World bank and other large development agents seek out ngos as strategic partners. They do not only see them as partners in the sense of providing monetary aid/aid. They see ngos as mechanisms for them to achieve more knowledge from a particular regions. Knowledge that these ngos and bilateral organizations do not have. Ngos are properly recognized and respected in developing countries. A good percentage of the populations works in the private sector. They are signi cant in the sense that they bring technology to developing countries that did not have said technology.
