Makes sense of people and the places that they occupy achieved through analyses and understandings of cultural processes, cultural landscapes, and cultural identities. The study of the ways i which space, place and landscape shape culture at the same time that culture shapes space, place and landscape. For example: the modification of landscapes, language regions, the geography of minorities ethnic spaces within cities, the creation of locations (i. e. , places) with important cultural meaning. Cultural geographers also investigate how : we represent ourselves to others, we distinguish ourselves from others, we relate to those of our own kind, we exercise dominance over others, how others represent themselves. A shared set of meanings that are lived through the material and symbolic practices of everyday life . Culture encompasses a way of life, the values, beliefs, customs, behaviours and other traits passed down from generation to generation.
