Network narraives funcion as open structures in women"s ilm texts and these in turn link to the feminist and related cultural networks that sustain a growing number of women ilm praciioners. (134) The networks as a spaial model with which to approach asian women directors is meant to map local and naional nodes as well as regional and global lows. (133-4) Zero chou: born in taiwan in 1969, works with her partner/cinematographer, lesbian world cinema auteur (ilms that touch on lesbian issues) but also ilms that don"t have lesbian content. I locate chou"s work and persona at the transnaional horizon where chinese-language, women"s and queer cinemas intersect, where ardently desired lesbian futures are cauiously projected. (142) Intersecion networks: transnaional china (anywhere that speaks chinese in and around china, women"s/feminist networks (funding, fesivals, etc. , queer & lesbian networks (funding, fesivals, audiences, etc. , ex: women"s fesivals in china (nawff), queer audiences in china, etc.
