General thoughts on the film, ca bin in the woods : The first time seeing the film is the best because it covers different concepts. Perhaps not a film that could be watched countless times. Directed by drew hadar (worked with the film, buffy) Self-reflexive : controlling conventions (actors should stick together instead of splitting up, although these conventions aren"t stated the audience perceives this because it is presented obviously) The film itself is aware of the horror type archetypes such as the virgin, the jock, and the blonde . Making fun of horror films with an anonymous person giving threats or warnings and another example is ancient god"s sacrificing the characters. All the monsters recall other types of monsters in other horror films (japanese horror films with the long dark hair and in the ring) The final girl - not necessarily virgin but they are not as sexual as the other characters are in the film.
