Week 3 - people & the natural environment. Exploitation approach - resources are readily available for us as individuals, little care is thought of during the abuse of the environment (overuse of resources) Preservation approach - not using the resources that are available to us, setting aside areas in the world to conserve the biodiversity and the environment. Ecological approach - humans and the environment are interrelated, we as humans must regulate the areas as we use the resources. Stewardship approach - moral duty to protect species in the natural environment, as individuals we must protect them and become stewards. Conversation - resources can be used but be used in a conservative way so that generations later can use the resources as well (most commonly seen) Preservation - strictly protecting the natural world, taking the act to an extreme humans must be removed from the area and not interfere with the environment.
