The presence of disability in history and its figures. Inbreeding led to physical disability and mental disability. Brothers married sisters: women owned all land, pharaohs controlled all land. Exposure of those with disabilities: sparta, disabilities from war. Many of history"s great and influential figures had disabilities. Disability was not brought up as an obstacle. Disability was not focused on or used as a form of exclusion in early periods of time. Alcohol and opium considered to be a treatment for mental illness.
