Reaction"s to new media: sceptical response, do not buy into the media, luddite response, opposite of sublime response, see the devolution of technology, against technological innovation, the matrix fear machines will malfunction against us, sublime response. Irrational feeling of greatness (awe-inspiring) technological innovation caused this feeling: everything seems possible greater progress is just around the corner. Technological determinism: position where technology causes everything else, discounts political, cultural, personal factors, etc, carr talks about it differently does not talk about it as a singular cause.
