Irrational feeling of greatness (awe-inspiring) technological innovation caused this feeling: everything seems possible greater progress is just around the corner. Technological determinism: position where technology causes everything else, discounts political, cultural, personal factors, etc, carr talks about it differently does not talk about it as a singular cause.
