Contemporary core field: neuroscience (esp. cognitive neuroscience) Secondary fields (i. e. , not core, but overlap occasionally) : education, anthropology. Psychology methods are empirical getting info. by observing the world. Cognitive psychology: broad field of basic research in human internal mental processes. Human factors/human-computer interaction (hci: studying how people psychologically interact with artifacts (human-designed/made things), such as user interfaces (e. g. , laptops) Evolutionary psychology: trying to understand how our evolutionary history has made our minds what they are.
