Psychologist focus primarily on how these processes are implemented in human organisms less focus on artificial systems and non-human animals (chimpanzees known as comparative psychology: ex. Attention, memory, language processing, perception, emotion, problem solving, and thinking. Also, interested in when mental processes break down thinking and reasoning: collecting and understanding the frequent errors human fall into when we have to problem-solve and think through a decision. Compare with other branches of psychology: social psychology: how social interactions influence mental processes, evolutionary psychology: how our evolutionary history has shaped our mental processes, psycholinguistics: what are the psychological processes underlying language production and comprehension.
