Heritage designaion or protecion is generally under provincial or local control. Oha part iv: designaion of individual properies for cultural value through municipal by-law. Oha part v: designaion of heritage conservaion district (hcd) through a municipal by-law (i. e. sandy hill is an hcd) Heritage resources in land use planning process (book of guidelines) Agreement between property owner and municipality/province that owner will take care of property and will give noice if changes will be made. Financial beneit owner receives tax credit for maintaining heritage. Case study i: sharon temple (1825-32), east gwillimbury. Major restoraion completed in 2011; reused as museum. Employed cratsmen knowledgeable in tradiional techniques to complete restoraion (i. e. plastering) Case study ii: mississippi valley texile museum, almonte.
