Facebook becomes part of the daily rhythm of life for canadians. Cultural nationalists do not respond negatively to facebook. Allows people to have an identity in a bounded space. Allows people to develop friends or people they wish to have populate this space. Allows people to examine connections their friends make in this space. Facebook connects us to an international space, sort of international nation. Connects us with american or international forms of culture/cultural groups. You need to identity yourself with regional networks. Facebook is tempered by the presence of these regional networks within facebook. Facebook connects you to people who are close to you. Facebook is a really interesting tool of social networking in the sense that it allows you to take your external life and place it online: friends, events that you"re going to attend, you have your relationship status online etc.
