Organizational cultures serve 2 critically important functions-to integrate members so that they know how to relate to one another and to helps the organization adapt to the external environment. Organizational culture should reinforce the strategy and structure that the organization needs to be successful in its environment: adaptability culture, mission culture, clan culture, bureaucratic culture. Culture- shared values, assumptions and beliefs, artifacts (much of culture is hidden) Humane orientation describes if individuals in an org or a society are encouraged/rewarded for being fair, altruistic, friendly, generous, caring, and generally kind. Gender egalitarianism the extent to which an org or a society minimizes gender differences and promote gender equality. Performance orientation the degree to which an org or a society encourages and rewards its members for high standards, excellence, and performance improvement. Future orientation describes the orientation towards planning and sacrificing instant individual or collective gratification for long-term future rewards.
