Prior to windows 8 coming out, microsoft had a 22% fall in quarterly profits. Their total revenue fell by 8% to 16 billion. One of them may be the recent shift in trends, from laptops to the increasingly popular tablets. This includes rival company apple"s ipad, and almost every other tech company that with a tablet, things may get even worse for microsoft. Microsoft is dropping the ball on keeping up with the trends and changes in the market in whichever category they"re competing in.
