BUSI 2101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Cognitive Bias, Iceberg
Document Summary
Employees insist that the most important factor to creating a great place to work is trust. There are two aspects to this; the 1st is credibility (believability, competence and integrity). Trust is a delicate commodity that must be earned daily and can create a positive relationship that is a competitive advantage to both the organization and the employee. The law of requisite variety: the person/system with the highest amount of behavioural flexibility will have the most influence on the system. Basically it means that the more choices you have (through personal flexibility), the more freedom you will feel, and the better a quality of life you can have. Note: complex environments can be understood on many levels and is based on how complex the individual that is trying to understand it is. With this law, one will have a variety of tools that will allow them to perceive others in unique ways.
