Biological diversity in that it stands for the total variety of living things in an area. Dragon hunter: common in ontario, this dragon fly eats other dragon flies (and looks like arnold. Groups less studied include: millipedes and centipedes, spiders, etc. A lot of insects depend on plants and so if there are not a wide variety of plants, then there are not a lot of insects and other species. Ontario"s total biodiversity is more than 100,000 species! The reasons that ontario is so biodiverse include: size ontario is more than 1 million km squared, great range of abiotic factors abiotic meaning non-living. Some of these factors include: temperature, precipitation, wind, soil type, fire, rocks. Rocks are made of minerals that affect the nutrient supply and soil chemistry.
