Cont. Archaeology of Rome and The Etruscans
-We know they have similar cultures but they are not the same
people
-Villanovan Culture has much in common with the Urnfield Culture
-Villanovan are ancestors to the Etruscans
-Housing burial urns that resembled their houses
-Urns that also looked like the soldiers helmets
-likely for soldiers
-copper, tin, ceramics
-skilled in metal work

-they do not disappear but become immersed into Roman culture

-they have a culture - a confederation !

-they had a famine !
-so they repopulated somewhere else !
-they are not indo-European !
- native people of Italy !
- First Greek Colony - Pithecusae !
-First Greek Settlers from Euboea !
-each city state has their own dialect and way of writing !
