LGST 112 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Electrical Contacts, Certified Check, Money Order
Document Summary
Generally when the client first walks into your office, the first person they will meet is the lawyer or notary. The lawyer will then take a copy of the contract of purchase and sale from the client purchasers, go over it with them and get some information from them. The lawyer will generally fill out a questionnaire with all this information. You will need to open a file and diarize 3 important dates: completion date, adjustment date and possession date. You will want to probably use a date book on your desk as well as your outlook and one other place. It is of utmost importance that documents are prepared and the transaction is completed on these da tes. The next thing you will need to do are searches. In a residential conveyance (i. e. a sale of a house or condo) you generally only need to do 2 searches: a land title office property search and a property tax search.
