It is a school of thought within the us & it is the dominant way of explaining how society works. The lifelong process through which we learn the values, roles & expected patterns of behavior appropriate to particular social groups in society. How individuals learn to live together in a ordered way to produce a coherent society. Appropriate" varies across: time, place, social group, society. We are not born knowing how to behave we learn & develop that knowledge over the years. There are certain behaviors that young teens can get away with these days merely because it is considered acceptable" these days. When we travel to other places, we notice their values, as they are different compared to ours. Sexual orientation (here, we support gay-lesbian marriages. In uganda, you can be killed for it) We are learning all of these things at the same time.
