Racial traits are non-concordant, meaning they are not necessarily expressed together: most of human variation is non-concordant, skin, eye or hair colour is not correlated with more complex traits like intelligence or athletic performance. Genetic variability/similarity: 85% of human variation occurs within any local population, 94% of human variation can be found on any continent, there is more variation within any racial group than there is between them. Race is not real, meaning there are no genetic or biological determinants that define race. Race is a social construct and an idea. We cannot conclude however that race is not real in its social effects: transatlantic slave trade, cultural genocide of first nations, anti-chinese sentiments. Constructing race as a genetic fact or as something real is scientifically wrong and politically, socially and psychologically harmful.
