Sociology identifies, explains and challenges these forces. *sociologists identify and explains and challenges these forces they want to analyze forces in order to change them, therefore they are activists* Gm downsized unemployment rates rise, poverty increases. When it comes to issues like this there are two ways of thinking: Individuals explanation: -these people are lazy, bums, no ambition, happy to use social assistance. Believe that situation is all the individuals fault. Sociologist perspective: -they argue that this is not true. This is due to structural faults in society: wright mills (1959)-explains the perspective. Sociological imagination: is the type of thinking that connects social forces to individual lives.
