Be able to explain the complexities associated with the deinition. It is a legal issue: can"t call yourself if you"re not one, breaking the law. Legal deinition varies from province to province / state to state. Ontario: 2 groups can call themselves psychologists: university professors with a phd. In the psychology department: people registered with the college of psychology, list all the steps involved in getting registered as a psychologist in ontario. Honours ba: 4 years, a a+ average. From approved program: 7-12 years, 30% dropout rate, approx. At least 1 year of post doctoral experience supervised by 2 registered psychologists. Written exam: 4 hours" long, must achieve a 70% or higher. Annual fee: be able to describe diferent types of psychologists and what they do. No summers of: research is being done. Have to be a business person if you"re in private practice (90%) There are a few training classes: test for ability to do speciic jobs.
