Document Summary
Evolutionary psychology is the study of the evolutionary origins of human behavior patterns. Many psychologists believe that evolution left an imprint on men and women that inluence everything from sexual attraction and inidelity to jealousy and divorce. Heredity refers to the transmission of physical and psychological characteristics from parents to their children through genes. Dna is a long, ladder-like chain of pairs of chemical molecules. The order of these molecules, or organic bases, acts as a code for genetic information. Organisms that are acceptable will reproduce to another generation. Neomammalian (cerebral cortex): left and right hemispheres, corpus callosum, esp. frontal lobes. This part of the brain distinguishes humans from other mammals. 3 (competing) layers of operating system (the layers develop separately) Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny development also proceeds in the same stages this is why teenagers are more vulnerable to emotions and to drug addiction.
