Ncaa doesn"t allow pay because they"re amateurs. They"re are being compensated with an education (not even always educated) Schools are spending a crazy amount of money on stadiums, coaches, and extra unnecessary. Coaches get paid from school, endorsements, interviews, etc. In 1800 someone made a rule so there was no worker compensation (ex. guy gets hurts at bball practice and lost his scholarship and couldn"t afford to pay for school forcing him to drop out. If there would have been workers comp, it would have been the school fault and his family wouldn"t have to deal with the troubles. ) Players get left out of revenue from all they"re hard work. Players are suffering cause they cant pay for food, however are unable to get a job cause there is no time. Only 2% of students make it past ncaa, what happens to the students that don"t make it and now don"t have a good education to get a real job.
