From 1900-2000; huge increase in illness caused by lifestyle factors (heart disease, canceretc) All these deaths could be avoided w/ proper nutrition, exercise, and preventative treatments by healthcare providers. Health: a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the: health is not the absence of illness absence of disease or infirmity. Social justice & equity: **healthy promotion focuses on achieving equity in health.
