An inference is drawing a conclusion from one or more other statements given as premises. Occur when a conclusion has been drawn from some premises. A conclusion is a statement inferred from one or more other statements given as premises of the inference. An argument is a chain of inferences from premises that follows to an overall conclusion. There can be several conclusion which serve as premises for a bigger conclusion. A statement is a sentence that expresses something true or false. A proposition is what the statement expresses as true or false. An argument occurs when someone is trying to convince someone else of something by providing reasons for it. These reasons (contained in the premises) support a conclusion. A statement is meant to be inferred from other statements. Words like so thus and therefore indicate a conclusion of an inference and are called conclusion indicators.
